SUMMARY:State of the Region
DESCRIPTION:The 2023 State of the Region Address and Business Expo presented by SRNS\, will take place now on Thursday September 7\, 5-9pm at USC Salkehatchie\, Allendale Campus. The event is a community wide dinner to inform Chamber members and local residents of recent accomplishments and the future vision of key local organizations and representatives shaping Allendale and Barnwell Counties. The event includes a business expo and social for local businesses and chamber members to network and discuss their work\, followed by a panel discussion moderated by Chamber Board Member BJ Jordan featuring these local leaders: \n\n\n\n–Daniel Alexander\, Barnwell County Council\, to speak on the county’s work on supporting business development-Dr Ashley Barnes\, Low Country Health Care System\, to speak on their work and healthcare broadly through the region–Danny Black\, Southern Carolina Alliance\, to speak about future industrial development in the region alongside the big wins SCA has had over the last three years–Steven Brown\, DIG Afterschool Program\, to speak on work to infuse local education with STEM skills–Matthew Connelly\, Allendale County Council\, to speak on that county’s work to support business and what they are doing to prepare for the new Tin Thanh plant–Joni McDaniel\, SC Department of Employment and Workforce\, to speak about workforce readiness in the region–Ronnie Pernell\, Mayor of Blackville\, to speak on Blackville’s work on revitalizing its downtown\, alongside his personal business of building houses–Robert Thomas\, Southeastern Housing & Community Development\, to speak about incentivizing housing development within the region \n\n\n\nDINNER: Hibatchi Steak & Chicken Dinner by Eat Street in Barnwell\, SC! \n\n\n\nThe 2023 State of the Region is proudly presented by SRNS with additional support from Rebekah Grubbs Group\, SRP Federal Credit Union\, and USC Salkehatchie.
