Change is Coming, Change is Here!

We are happy to unveil our new logo and look at the Southern Palmetto Regional Chamber! This follows several exciting organizational developments, including the addition of the Southern Palmetto Foundation which is a new 501(c)3 non-profit organization that will work in tandem with the Chamber to drive positive economic Impact, foster regional talent, and improve overall quality of life throughout Barnwell, Allendale Counties, and the surrounding region. The Foundation will be home to the Palmetto Innovation Center and our newly formed Propel Business Lab, so that those programs can continue to thrive, and we look forward to developing more in the future!

As we mark the 45th sapphire anniversary of the Chamber, I am excited to also announce that I will be taking the reins as  President/CEO of both the Chamber and Foundation starting January 1, and filling the big shoes of the amazing Terri Smith upon her retirement. She has spent the last five years making some great strides with our work at the Chamber and was at the core of keeping the organization going amidst some challenging years for us all. I have had the pleasure of working alongside her for the last year, and I can’t wait to celebrate her and all she has done during her expansive career in the region during our Jingle Mingle on December 5th. She will be moving to McClellanville, SC on the first of the year, so for many this may be your last chance to see her for a while!

Just because it’s the holiday season, doesn’t mean we are slowing down! I am truly excited about the spectacular series of events and programs we have in store for our members and the public in 2023. We’ll give you more on those later, but for now know that we are putting your membership dollars to work for YOU! If our recent BBQ, Blues, & Boos is any indication, we are dreaming BIG and aiming to get there! We hope to see you at our last few events for the year listed below, and appreciate your support in fostering a healthy business community for the region!

Best,

Bob Snead
Program Coordinator and Incoming Chamber President/CEO
