Petals & Stars is a grassroots 501c3 nonprofit organization with a mission of spreading hope. The Kindness Creations Project and Entrepreneur Day 4 Kids events are our signature initiatives.

The Kindness Creations Project invites children and other volunteers to create handwritten messages on small, specialty paper for in-person or mail distribution to animal helpers, veterans, first responders, farmers, and other community workers.

Since the initiative kicked off in 2019, thousands of these notes have been shared in the Lowcountry and surrounding areas. It is a tangible and meaningful way to spread hope in our community, one note at a time.

In 2022, Petals & Stars added its Entrepreneur Day 4 Kids popup markets to help children with entrepreneurial aspirations. In addition to families with “small” business stars setting up booths to sell homemade items, baked goods, jewelry, artwork, and other fun products, local community helpers present onsite displays for fun interactions.

Functioning as a hub for our services, the Petals & Stars Center was opened in March 2024 to bring families and communities together for creative and charitable works. The center, located at 69 Robert Smalls Parkway, Suite 1B in Beaufort, SC, offers activities that include the Kindness Creations Project, where volunteers punch notes, write messages, sort groups, and prepare the creations for distribution to animal helpers, farmers, first responders, and veterans. In addition, small workshops and gatherings are held periodically to support community groups and families with young children.
