Little Red Barn
Formerly the Leigh Banana Case Company Commissary, the old general store moved to its present location from the Leigh/Ellenton area in the early 1950s during the construction of SRS, and now houses the pottery studio of Elizabeth Ringus, Paw Print Pottery along with other local artisans and an exclusive unique display of custom crafted and antique furniture specializing in ‘country chic’ for home decor. Liz Ringus is a nationally-known Master Potter who specializes in SC traditional face jugs, as well as functional stoneware pottery and limited edition Raku fired pottery. Visitors can even watch the pottery turned before their eyes! The gallery also features the work of many local artists, including food products and jams made by Mennonite women, quilts, handmade soaps and herbal products by African-American artists, natural stone jewelry, paintings, bat and bird houses, cotton rugs, woven shawls and laprobes, knitted baby layettes and unusual SC mementos.
