The Smart Box is a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating food insecurity and uplifting communities in Allendale County and surrounding areas. Founded by educator and advocate Phyllis Smart, The Smart Box operates an emergency food pantry that has expanded significantly since its inception in 2017. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization grew to deliver meals to over 1,000 residents across Allendale and neighboring counties .
