State Of the Region

The 2024 State of the Region Address and Business Expo presented by SRNS is a community wide dinner to inform Chamber members and local residents of recent accomplishments and the future vision of key local organizations and representatives shaping Allendale and Barnwell Counties. The event includes a business expo and social for local businesses and chamber members to network and discuss their work from 5-6pm, followed by dinner and a panel discussion moderated by Chamber President & CEO, Bob Snead featuring these local leaders:

–S. Ahmad Mikell of S.A Mikell & Company, to speak about affordable housing and his current plans for housing development within the region.
–Lari Gooding of Allendale County Hospital, to speak about the state of health within our region. Give his insights on current health trends, challenges, and future initiatives that would be invaluable to the region.
–Crissie Stapleton of Barnwell County School District, to speak about the state of education in the region and the recent consolidation of the Barnwell County School District.
–Marlon Creech of Allendale Town Council, to speak on the town’s work to support business and talk about there future plans for the town
–Sheryl Steadman, H.O.P.E Collective, Inc , to speak about her organization and promoting youth entrepreneurship within the region

And closing out the evening will be a keynote presented by Congressman James E. Clyburn, representative of the 6th District of South Carolina in Congress.

The 2024 State of the Region is proudly presented by SRNS with additional support from SRP Federal Credit Union, USC Salkehatchie, and The Blossom Shop.
