Blessing of the Crops

We are continuing to see excitement around our new schedule of events, with a sold out crowd of 150 in attendance at our first annual Blessing of the Crops last month on March 23. It was a beautiful evening celebrating regional ag producers, at the magical King George Lavender Farm and Mercantile. Tim McCormick of Humble Acres Organics led us in prayer, followed by an incredible spread by Melinda Ray of Lucy Lu’s Cafe, and great presentations by Mindi Sandifer, Head of Ag Barnwell County Career Center, Margo Huggins of Rivendell Farms, and Amanda Croft of South Carolina Farm Bureau Federation.

A huge thank you to our event sponsors AgSouth Farm CreditBarnwell County HEALing Partners, and Foodshare Bamberg for making this event possible, and to everyone on the organizing committee for making this event a huge success: Dawn Snead and Jessica Bradshaw of the Barnwell Farmers Market, Angela Cotton of SRP Federal Credit Union, Rob Last of Clemson Extension, Angel Brahbam of Connelly Farms, and Corey Beard of AgSouth Farm Credit. And these great photos were taken by Laura J. McKenzie Communications, LLC! Hire her to document your next event! CLICK HERE TO SEE MORE PHOTOS!

April is yet another BUSY month for us, and particularly April 13th! We will be hosting our Women’s Leadership Luncheon that afternoon, and then in the evening we will host our first Propel Business Lab Pitch competition, where program participants will be competing for $10k for their businesses! And then less than a week later on April 18th, we have our deadline for the next class of Propel Business Lab.

Read more below about all we have happening this Month, and also check out an incredible marketing deal that’s going on exclusively for Chamber Members.  It’s a great time to join or renew your membership THIS MONTH!

Best,

Bob Snead
President / CEO
