The Allendale HEALing Partners Coalition is seeking a reliable and community-minded individual to serve as a Farmers Market Assistant. This position plays a key role in supporting and facilitating the weekly farmers market by ensuring smooth operations, assisting vendors and customers, and helping create a welcoming, organized, and engaging market environment.
This is a hands-on, outdoor position that is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and being part of a community-centered initiative.
This position reports to the HEALing Partners Coordinator.
Farmers Market Season/Hours:
June – October
Thursday, Friday, 2nd & 4th Saturday
9AM – 1PM (Assistant scheduled from 8AM – 2PM for market Setup / Breakdown)

Market Operations
- Setup and break down the market each day (tables, signage, banners)
- Assist with overall market layout and organization
- Ensure all materials are properly stored and maintained
Vendor & Customer Support
- Serve as on-site support for vendors and market visitors
- Assist vendors with space needs and general questions
- Provide friendly, helpful assistance to market visitors
Activities & Engagement
- Assist with setup of market activities, demonstrations, and special events
- Help create a welcoming and engaging environment for the community
- Assist with basic social media updates
Market Oversight
- Help enforce market guidelines and expectations with vendors and visitors in a respectful and professional manner
- Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting market space throughout the day
Qualification
- Strong communication and people skills
- Reliable and able to work independently
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25-30 lbs
- Positive attitude and willingness to help where needed
