Yesterday was deadline day and we are feeding on the excitement that has come through from the program applicants for second cohort of Propel Business Lab. Last Thursday was an equally frenetic day with our first Propel pitch competition, with 17 of our current participants with businesses throughout Allendale and Barnwell pitching for $10,000. We are so proud of all the incredible entrepreneurs that took part in our first cohort of Propel Business Lab and competed!

Congratulations to Lauren Creech and Tiffany Zieman for winning $10,000 to support the growth of their businesses, but we want to congratulate all of the program participants of this first cohort for taking the leap and investing in their future and the future of the region: Chris Blume, Jacob Oswald, Amanda Pressie, Caroline Freeman, Yvelande Brice, Tonya Sanders-Govan, Darrell Queen, Lisa Creech, Carolena Taylor, Mattison Bolen, Kenyata Crum, Shelby Broomfield, Linda Strocky, Brenda Span, Audrey Davis, and Christina Cartagena. Make sure to visit and follow all of the businesses that took part in the program and that are making an investment in our region: The Southern T HouseEarth Heir Apothecary M & M Glass Services Of The Low CountryThe Water WarehouseDivine’s TouchDancing ThistleBricyCareGovan’s Eternal Grave Care,Pie Phactory MarketingVoices by Lisa DelaineLena and Company CafeSonshine CreationsA little touch of Heaven Nightcare service U.B.Carwash and Pressure WashingAngel’s Halo Beauty Collection, LLCThe Neat ConsultantSpanns CateringDecors by Davis.

If you missed the big event, you missed a great one full of tasty food, great presentations, and even a few dance moves! Check out photos from the event on our facebook page, or watch the brief video on our youtube. If you want to participate in a future round of classes to support your great business idea, join our email mailing list at the bottom of this page so you can know when our next application process will be! Our next cohort is starting in May and applications deadline has past for this summer, but we are planning to continue the program in the future: https://palmettoinnovation.org/propel-business-lab/

Also have to give another HUGE thanks to our Propel programming funders, USDA RBDG and Barnwell County, our pitch competition event sponsors SRP Federal Credit Union and Barnwell County Economic Development Commission, Alicia Davis Propel Business Lab Program Facilitator, Enterick Lee SPRCC Director of Programs, our partner-in-arms USC Salkehatchie , and all of the incredible folks who spent their evening with us to participate as judges.
